FAQ

Trial Q’s

Is a Trial Required?

Yes, trials for hair/makeup are required and included in total booking cost. This helps me get to know your hair/ skin and establish what look you want to achieve before your wedding so there are no surprises for the big day! Trials are also a time for us to get to know each other. Trying out your look beforehand will help to make sure you are feeling 100% confident for wedding day. It helps the wedding day go smoother and time is spent completing, not determining if this or that works for your desired look.

How Long Does a Trial Take?

Depending on if you book me for both hair and makeup, please allow 1-3 hours for your trial.

How Far Out Should I Book My Trial?

I recommend 2-4 months out from your wedding date. You don’t want to wait until the last minute since schedules may be booked due to postponements and might not be able to get you in.

-You will most likely have your dress, which will influence your hairstyle choice. -You most likely will have your final colors chosen, which may influence your makeup choices.

-You’ll have just enough time to tweak your skin care regimen (if needed).

-You’ll have enough time to make hairstyle changes to the color and cut (if needed).

When Are You Available For Trials?

I take trials on weekdays (Monday- Wednesday). No Exceptions.

What Should I Bring To My Trial?

Come with clean, dry, smooth hair/ clean, bare face with no makeup. Several inspiration photos. (Keep in mind Pinterest photos most likely use hair extensions and filters for makeup). Be sure to bring your veil and any hair accessories to your hair appointment, as well as any statement jewelry that might accompany your look. (You should talk to your hair stylist in advance if you think you may need to purchase hair extensions).

Hair:

1: Choose an inspiration style similar to your hair color, cut, and length (you may need to cut, color, or add extensions to reach desired look if not).

2: Suited for the climate for the month of your wedding.

Makeup: As a makeup artist (not magician). Here are all the things I can’t do…

1: Eliminate texture (acne, scars, etc.) I can camouflage/ color correct, but risen skin will not magically go away. This is a skincare issue, not a makeup issue.

2: Eliminate wrinkles. If you see them without makeup, you will see them with makeup. You’re human.

3: Make you look like a celebrity. Photos of celebrities aren’t even reality, remember that.

Does It Matter What I Wear To a Trial?

It kinda does! You want to avoid prints or bright colors. Wearing white or pale tones will be less distracting to the eye when it comes to photographing your hair and makeup.

Remember it’s also the color you will be wearing on your wedding day!

Can I Bring Someone To My Trial?

Please come as an individual to allow for a more seamless and stress-free appointment.

Booking Q’s

Do You Require a Deposit to Book?

Yes, when booking expect to put down a deposit and a signed agreement to secure your date. Holding off can result in you unintentionally losing the day and me as your stylist!

How Do You Take Payment?

I accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle. Please no personal checks, money orders, or debit/credit cards.

Wedding Day Q’s

How Much Time Do We Need for Bridal Hair/Makeup?

This isn’t your everyday hair and makeup! Make sure to allow at least

1 Hour/1.5 Hours for the bride per service. For all other (guests, bridesmaids, moms, juniors) Please allow 30min/ 1 Hour.

What If I Want To Add People/Services?

Once the agreement is signed, that number is not subject to change. I plan the day based on that number of people.

If the number of services jumps from 6 to 10, I can’t do that many girls by myself.

Can You Hire An Assistant?

The need for an assistant is based on the number of services. My maximum number of solo services is 6 services, so any larger parties will be required to book a separate stylist.

What If My Contract Doesn’t Included An Assistant/Separate Stylist But Now We Need One?

This depends on availability. This is why it is always best to have your set number of girls/services at the time of booking. You’re welcome to book a separate stylist on your own for any additional styles needed.

Can We Get Ready in My Bridal Suite?

Trust me, I understand they are beautiful and make for the best photos, but venues fail to let you know that you typically don’t get access to the bridal suite until around 11am.

With a large bridal party, that timeline becomes highly unrealistic for hair and makeup.

Where Do You Recommend Getting Ready?

You can always book an AirBnB (more ideal for space and lighting) or a hotel room the night before to get ready in and then head to the suite afterwards.

*Hair and makeup will require a full-length table, a chair, natural lighting, and adequate space for all artists. (Please no bathrooms, vanities, or insufficient counter space).

*Speak to the hotel and see if you can reserve a conference room to get ready in. More space and better lighting= happy bridal party.

How Should I Arrive for Hair & Makeup on Wedding Day?

Come with clean, dry, smooth hair/ clean, bare face with no makeup. This includes last night’s mascara ladies!  Please follow my hair and makeup prep guide for wedding day. (Please note that I will not perform hair and makeup services on irritated or broken skin).

*No ponytails or messy buns

*No product (aka hairspray, etc.) in hair after it’s dried.

*No second day hair or day-old hair.

** Any client failing to adhere to Lash + Veil, LLC’s hair and makeup prep guidelines will be subject to an additional $25 fee charged for each service.

*Wear a flowy shirt/ tank top with an open neckline or button up. Or if your bridal party has cute matching robes!

Why?- So you can easily change without ruining your hair and makeup!

Keep your face out of the sun!

-Not only will the sun cause extreme sunburn (no makeup in the world is sticking to a freshly burnt face!) But it can cause dryness and flakey skin, this will compromise the longevity and smoothness of your wedding day face!

Bask in the sun post wedding day on your honeymoon!

I CAN’T WAIT TO WORK WITH YOU!
